Electronic routing or workflow will be an important feature of the 9.1 HR/Pay system.
Workflow is a method of electronically routing transactions for review and approval to the appropriate authorizers, rather than routing paper. Workflow will be used by supervisors to approve time and leave. New employees will be able to complete W-4 and I-9 documents upon initial hire utilizing workflow. The final overall rating on performance evaluations for some staff can be submitted to HR via workflow by a supervisor, with the employee having view access. When a workflow transaction is transmitted, it is sent to a “work list” where the approver can review and authorize the action before it goes into the HR/Pay system. Other business processes now handled “on paper” will be considered for workflow options in the future.
